Pramono Anung: Creative Economy Sector Becomes Focus of New Economy Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the creative economy sector became the focus of Jakarta's new economy, in addition to the trade and services sectors.

"These three sectors have great potential to create jobs, attract investment, and increase Jakarta's competitiveness at the national and global levels," said Pramono in Jakarta, Saturday.

He also emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to accelerate the transformation of Jakarta into the ranks of 50 global cities by 2030.

To achieve this target, he said, economic development is no longer only based on the trade and services sectors, but is also strengthened through the creative economy, the sports and lifestyle sector, as well as the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to provide support so that all of these potentials can develop optimally," said Pramono.

Furthermore, Pram, his nickname, revealed Jakarta's economic achievements which continue to show positive trends. In the first quarter of 2026, Jakarta's economy grew 5.59 percent with a contribution of 16.67 percent to the national economy.

In addition, Jakarta also contributed around 38 percent of national QRIS transactions and was supported by 422,261 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"These data show that Jakarta's economic foundation is getting stronger," said Pram.

For this reason, he ensured that the DKI Provincial Government continues to encourage innovation and digitization so that economic growth can be felt evenly by all people.

In addition, he said the DKI Provincial Government is also trying to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs through the JakPreneur program through business capacity improvement, expansion of financing access, market expansion, and digitization.

His party wants to ensure that every MSME actor has the same opportunity to develop.

"With continued support, Jakarta MSMEs are expected to become one of the main drivers of regional and national economic growth," added Pram.
