Survey Shows Majority of Britons Think US Has Had Bad Impact on World
JAKARTA - More than 60 percent of British citizens assess that the United States (US) has a more negative impact on the world, according to a survey by the research institute YouGov released on Friday (3/7) to coincide with the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day which falls on July 4.
"Until now, 64 percent of British citizens view the United States as more of a force that has a negative impact on the world, while only 9 percent assess that the country has more positive impact, and 11 percent say neither," the survey results were reported by ANTARA from Sputnik/RIA Novosti-OANA, Saturday, July 4.
YouGov noted that during the tenure of former US President Joe Biden, the average respondent who held this view was at 39 percent.
The survey also showed that 28 percent of respondents considered AStelah to be a source of negative influence throughout the 250 years since independence. Meanwhile, 38 percent of respondents gave a positive assessment of the role of AS during that period.
On the other hand, as many as 10 percent of respondents said they did not support the independence of the US from the United Kingdom.
The YouGov survey was conducted on June 10-11 with 2,058 British adults as respondents. The institution did not list the margin of error in the results of its survey.
