KPK has a confession from the Regent of Kuansing regarding the envelope to the Minister of Finance Raja Juli

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the confession of the non-active Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby regarding the delivery of an envelope to the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni.

The statement is part of the investigation into alleged corruption related to the management of the release of Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas in Kuansing Regency.

"Yes, it will be part of what the investigators will investigate. Meanwhile, the statement from the regent is only one party," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein to reporters at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, early Saturday, July 4.

Taufik said that Raja Juli's testimony was also possible to be needed in the investigation process. So, the scheduling of the summons could be carried out by the working team.

Meanwhile, regarding the objections made by Raja Juli regarding the receipt of the envelope, Taufik did not want to say much. According to him, everyone has the right to make explanations even through a press conference.

However, the KPK is certain to conduct further in-depth investigations. "So the facts (that appear, ed) are not only because of comments but because of the pure needs of the investigation, whether from the testimony of witnesses who have been examined or from the documents resulting from the search, the results of the seizure," he said.

"That will be part of what the investigators will investigate," continued Taufik.

In his statement, Raja Juli admitted that there was an envelope left by Suhardiman after a meeting between the Ministry of Forestry and the Kuansing Regency Government on June 2 or a few weeks before the OTT was carried out. However, the return was made on June 29.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) of alleged bribes for filling the position of Kuansing Regent. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving.
