Icha Doctor's Family Reports Case of Intimidation to NTT Police

KUPANG - The family of the late doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni or doctor Icha reported a case of alleged intimidation by three members of the North Central Timor Regency DPRD to the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police.

Upon arrival at the NTT Regional Police Headquarters, the family of the late doctor Icha immediately went to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) room to make a report.

ANTARA's monitoring, Friday, July 3, the families who came to report included the deceased's parents, namely Gabriel Pakaenoni and Nur Azizah, as well as two of Icha's younger brothers, namely Tiara Maharani Dwi Pakaenoni and Eflin Pakaenoni.

Eflintampak holding a framed photo of his late brother and walked together towards the SPKT room.

Also present was the Deputy Director of Women and Children's Crimes and Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) of the NTT Police AKBP Samuel Sambolon.

Previously, on June 26, 2026, Dr. Icha was found dead in a state of suicide.

The death of the doctor Icha was allegedly due to intimidation from three members of the East Timor DPRD on June 13, 2026 when the deceased was a doctor on duty at the Leona Hospital Emergency Room in Kefamenanu City.

Until this news was released, the family of the late doctor Icha was still in the SPKT room to report the alleged case of intimidation.

Previously, Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Henry Novika Chandra, said that the East Nusa Tenggara Police took over the handling of the investigation into the alleged intimidation of Icha doctors by forming a joint investigation team to investigate the case professionally, objectively, transparently, and based on evidence.

Henry said the formation of the team was a follow-up to the results of joint assistance from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to strengthen the investigation and investigation process.

"The NTT Police Chief has instructed that the handling of the case be carried out comprehensively by involving a number of functions in the NTT Police and the police force," he said.

He emphasized that the NTT Police Chief had also instructed that all potential evidence and legal facts be thoroughly investigated through the joint investigation mechanism.

Handling this case is based on scientific crime investigation so that every conclusion made is really based on valid evidence in accordance with legal provisions.
