Ukrainian Woman Suspected of Attempting to Assassinate Monaco Tycoon in Bombing
JAKARTA - The main suspect in the attempted murder case against Ukrainian tycoon Vadim Yermolayev in Monaco is reportedly a 30-year-old Ukrainian woman with German residency.
The information was revealed by the French media, France Info, citing related sources.
The Monaco Prosecutor's Office also confirmed that it had issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.
As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, July 3, based on the investigation report, after the explosion occurred, the suspect immediately headed to the commune of Beausoleil in France, before finally fleeing to Italy with his accomplices.
The explosion rocked Monaco on Monday night, injuring three people, including a man, a woman, and a child.
The communication agency Silver Eye, which represents Yermolayev, confirmed that the shrimp entrepreneur and his son were injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, the Le Figaro newspaper reported that the priority scenario of the Monaco investigation team is currently pointing to the alleged involvement of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).
The explosion was suspected to be instigated by SBU as a form of a stern warning to Yermolayev.
However, Monaco's Attorney General Stephane Thibault said that based on preliminary data, authorities had not classified the explosion as a terrorist attack.
The investigation team is still investigating the motive behind the attack.
