Honda Monkey 2026 Officially Launched with New Appearance, Price Breaks Rp88 Million
JAKARTA - PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) gives a refresh to the Honda Monkey by presenting new color options and a seat design that further reinforces the identity of the classic-style motorcycle. This update is aimed at maintaining the unique character of the Honda Monkey as a premium hobby motorcycle that emphasizes style and driving pleasure.
This latest model is now available in three new color options, namely Banana Yellow, Millenium Red, and Pearl Cadet Gray. In addition, AHM also embeds a checkered seat pattern that gives a more expressive and playful feel, without losing the classic design features that have been attached to the Honda Monkey since its first generation.
Despite getting a new touch in the cosmetics sector, the Honda Monkey still maintains its iconic small silhouette with a combination of a compact body, engine, frame, and various premium features that are the main attraction of this motorcycle. AHM Marketing Director Octavianus Dwi said that the refresh is expected to provide new options for consumers who make motorbikes part of their lifestyle as well as a medium to express themselves.
"Honda Monkey does have a special place for those who consider motorcycles as part of their lifestyle. Through the new color and motif of the seat, we want to provide a more unique and iconic choice for consumers who want to express themselves through their hobby motorbikes, while daring to be unique, fun, and fashionable," said Octa, quoted from the official statement, Friday, July 13.
The Honda Monkey was first introduced in 1961 and to this day it still maintains its appeal thanks to its distinctive design, compact dimensions, and light weight. This character makes this motorcycle comfortable to use for casual driving as well as a collection for classic motorcycle lovers.
In the feature sector, the Honda Monkey is equipped with a digital instrument panel that displays speed information, a six-segment fuel indicator, and a complete odometer with two trip meters. The lighting system has also used LED lights throughout the parts to provide better visibility while driving.
This motorcycle relies on an air-cooled 125 cc SOHC two-valve single-cylinder engine combined with PGM-FI technology. Engine power is delivered through a five-speed transmission so as to be able to deliver responsive acceleration. The engine has a bore x stroke size of 50.0 x 63.1 mm with a compression ratio of 10.0:1, so it offers performance that is suitable for use in urban areas.
To support comfort and control, the Honda Monkey uses a Showa upside down front suspension combined with a double rear suspension. Meanwhile, the block pattern pattern tires measuring 120/80-12 65J in the front and 130/80-12 69J in the back also strengthen the tough character while providing optimal grip. The latest Honda Monkey is marketed at an on the road (OTR) DKI Jakarta price of IDR 88,094,000.
