Panggilan Sujud Mosque Revitalized, the National Police Emphasizes Character Formation

Bandung - The National Police emphasized the formation of the character of students through the revitalization of the Panggilan Sujud Mosque at the Sespim Lemdiklat Polri, Lembang, West Java. The mosque was inaugurated by Wakapolri Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara Day, Thursday, July 2.

The revitalization of the mosque began from the idea of Inspector General of Police Prof. Dr. Chryshnanda Dwilaksana when he served as the Kasespim Polri for the period 2023-2024 together with Inspector General of Police Purn Suntana. Construction began with the laying of the first stone in 2024 and has now been completed.

Chryshnanda, who is currently the Head of the Police Science Study Center, said the revitalization was carried out to present a more representative and character-oriented police education environment.

According to Chryshnanda, the Panggilan Sujud Mosque is not only a house of worship. The mosque is also expected to become a moral, spiritual, intellectual, and leadership training space for Polri students.

"It is hoped that the mosque will be the birthplace of Bhayangkara people who have a balance between intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence in carrying out their duties of service to the community," said Chryshnanda.

Wakapolri Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo said that character building cannot be done instantly. He assessed that the quality of leaders is formed through a long process, sincerity, and consistency.

Therefore, the existence of the Panggilan Sujud Mosque is expected to be an important part in producing professional, humanistic, integrated, and socially sensitive Polri leaders.

Dedi emphasized that the transformation of the National Police was not enough just through organizational and technological modernization. Strengthening faith, morals, and human values must also have a place.

"This mosque is expected to become a center for the birth of the Bhayangkara generation who are able to provide the best service to the community by upholding moral and humanitarian values," said Dedi.
