Police Investigate Rp10 Billion Assets in Bodong Banyumas Investment Case
PURWOKERTO - The Banyumas Police have investigated allegations of money laundering (TPPU) in handling the case of alleged fraud in the guise of investment involving a former employee of Bank Mandiri Taspen Purwokerto Branch by tracing assets whose value is estimated to reach Rp. 10 billion.
Head of the Banyumas Police, Kombes Petrus P. Silalahi, said investigators conducted asset tracing as part of the TPPU investigation as well as to try to recover the losses of the victims.
"We do not stop at prosecution, but also on the recovery of victims' rights, including restitution. Therefore, we continue to investigate with the crime of money laundering," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 2.
According to Petrus, so far there are 16 victims who have reported to the police with a total loss of around IDR 3.3 billion.
However, the total number of victims is estimated to be more than 100 people with a total loss of around Rp25 billion.
He said the suspect with the initials N alias D was a former employee of Bank Mandiri Taspen Purwokerto Branch.
In the investigation of the alleged TPPU, the police have blocked six property certificates, consisting of four certificates in the name of the suspect and two certificates in the name of her husband with the initials T.
Investigators also traced a number of vehicles suspected of being related to the case.
According to Petrus, the value of the assets being investigated is estimated to reach around IDR 10 billion based on initial estimates.
He added that investigators were still investigating the possibility of the involvement of other parties, including the suspect's husband.
"Until now, the perpetrator is still suspected of acting alone. However, the possibility of the involvement of the suspect's husband is still being investigated, including regarding the application of the crime of money laundering," he said.
Previously, the Banyumas Police had named N alias D as a suspect in the case of fraud disguised as investment and detained him since June 7, 2026.
Furthermore, on June 25, 2026, the suspect was again named a suspect in the case of alleged forgery of letters or documents reported by Bank Mandiri Taspen.
