Iran Warns US-Israel Not to Interfere with Ali Khamenei's Funeral Chain

JAKARTA - The commander of the Iranian Armed Forces Central Command, Ali Abdollahi, warned the United States, Israel, and their allies not to launch threats or aggression against Iran ahead of the final series of honors and funerals for Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a statement broadcast on state television IRIB on Thursday, July 2, Abdollahi asked the countries to avoid miscalculations. He also reminded them to consider the consequences of any action against Iran.

"On these days of lessons, we warn Iran's enemies, especially the United States, Israel, and their allies in the region and beyond, not to make any kind of miscalculation," he said, quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik.

He emphasized that the Iranian armed forces are ready to respond harshly to any threats or aggression aimed at his country.

Abdollahi also said Iran would respond quickly and decisively if the United States tried to interfere in the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to him, the presence of US military aircraft and drones in the airspace of the Strait of Hormuz actually exacerbated tensions. This condition, he continued, endangers regional security.

Khamenei's final honors and funeral are scheduled to take place from July 4-9. The procession in Tehran will be held on July 4-6, followed by ceremonies in Qom on July 7 and in Najaf and Karbala, Iraq, on July 8.

Khamenei is scheduled to be buried in his hometown, Mashhad, in northeastern Iran, on July 9. The state ceremony attended by heads of state, high officials, and foreign delegations will take place in Tehran on July 3.

Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli attack in Tehran on February 28. After that, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was chosen as the new supreme leader of Iran.

Since being appointed as the supreme leader, Mojtaba has never appeared in public. However, he has made several statements to the Iranian people through official government media.
