Sultan asks for the case of land abuse in the village to be resolved legally

JAKARTA - The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, asked for the case of the misuse of village land by the former lurah and village officials in Condongcatur Village, Sleman Regency, to be resolved legally.

"Yes, if I apply for a process, yes, it must be resolved legally, that's it," said Sri Sultan HB as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 2.

The statement was in response to the presence of former village head and village officials in Condongcatur who had been named as suspects by the DIY Police for the case of misuse of village cash land.

The two suspects are suspected of abusing village cash land in their area which is rented out to be built as a dormitory or residence for personal interests.

"Anyway, I will follow up, if it violates the rules like that," he said.

Due to this incident, the DIY Governor advised the village heads or village heads and village officials in this province to be careful in using village cash land because its use has been regulated in regulations.

"My hope (no misuse of village cash land), but I can't say that, if he has interests and violates the rules, I will follow up, that's it," he said.

The DIY Police have named a former Lurah Condongcatur with the initials R as a suspect in the case of alleged corruption in the abuse of authority in the utilization of village funds in the village of Condongcatur, Sleman.

Head of Public Relations of the DIY Police, Kombes Police Ihsan, in a press conference at the Police Headquarters, Tuesday (30/6), said investigators found allegations of abuse of authority in the utilization of village land which resulted in state financial losses.

The suspect is suspected of renting out the village treasury land of 1,980 square meters to 17 tenants in the period 2021 to 2023, which was then used by the tenants to build permanent buildings as residences.
