KPK Reveals Second Wife of Kuansing Regent Participated in Enjoying Pajero Sport Car Result of Bribery 

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar car suspected of coming from the practice of bribery for filling positions in the environment of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government (Kuansing) was used by the second wife of the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby, Suci Nitia Edwar.

Acting Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein said the car was given by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kuansing Zulkarnain to Suhardiman during the process of filling the post of Head of the PUPR Service in 2021. So, Suci was then secured in the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) which was held since Monday, June 29.

"It's true that the second wife of the regent was also secured by the team because it happened that the Pajero Sport car was used by the second wife of the regent," Taufik told reporters, quoted by Thursday, July 2.

Taufik explained that the black Pajero Sport had been paid off. This is different from the Land Cruiser 300GR-S that Zulkarnain had just given when he was going to be selected as the Regent of Kuansing Regency.

"That status is not leasing anymore because it's old, it's finished, it means it's paid off," he said.

"As for Suci, he is still in the status of a witness," said Taufik. The OTT time team took him to the Red and White KPK building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta to ask for further information about the assets.

"So for the second wife, it was indeed secured because the team found it in the field when it was to the house of SA, there was only his wife as a witness in this case," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) of alleged bribes for filling the position of Kuansing Regent. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving.
