Prabowo Targets Belarus to Strengthen Indonesia's Food Security
JAKARTA - Food security is once again the focus of President Prabowo Subianto's diplomacy. In a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Thursday, July 2 at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Indonesia encouraged wider cooperation in the fields of modern agriculture, fertilizers to heavy equipment.
Prabowo said Indonesia and Belarus have complementary potential to strengthen the food sector.
According to Prabowo, the cooperation does not only cover the provision of fertilizers and agricultural technology, but also the modernization of agriculture and the strengthening of the supply chain.
"We are determined to continue to increase cooperation in the field of food security," said Prabowo.
In addition to food, the two countries also agreed to expand economic cooperation through the development of industry, technology, and investment.
Prabowo assessed that the opportunity for joint ventures or joint ventures is open in the manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicles, and agro-industrial sectors.
The cooperation is part of the Indonesia-Belarus roadmap 2026-2030 which was launched during President Lukashenko's state visit to Indonesia.
