Pramono Accelerates the Construction of the Latumenten Flyover, a Rp259 Billion Project Completed in December 2026
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has accelerated the construction of the Latumenten Flyover in Grogol, West Jakarta, as an effort to overcome one of the worst traffic jams in the capital. The project worth Rp. 259 billion is targeted to be completed on December 15, 2026 with construction progress that has now reached 55.2 percent.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung said the Latumenten Flyover was one of the priority projects because the area had been experiencing traffic congestion, especially due to the meeting of vehicle traffic with the railway crossing.
"This Latumenten flyover is one of the most anticipated flyovers in Jakarta. Because here, morning, afternoon, and evening, the traffic is very high. So when it was proposed, I conveyed that this was the top priority to solve the congestion in the Grogol, Pluit, Slipi, and surrounding areas," said Pramono while reviewing the construction of the Latumenten Flyover, Thursday, July 2.
According to Pramono, the construction of the flyover is progressing according to schedule. He hopes that the project can be completed on time so that the benefits can be felt immediately by the community, especially road users in West Jakarta.
"Now the progress has reached 55.2 percent with a construction budget of Rp. 259 billion. I hope this project will be completed on time, namely on December 15, 2026, so that traffic in one of the areas that has been the most complained about can become more smooth," said Pramono.
The Latumenten flyover was built to separate vehicle traffic from the railway line so that traffic congestion in the area can be reduced. The lane leading to Slipi has a length of 435 meters, while the Grogol direction is 420 meters long. Each is equipped with two lanes for public vehicles and one lane for busway.
Not only building a flyover, the DKI Provincial Government also prepares a Pedestrian Crossing Bridge (JPO) which is designed to be friendly to people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and children.
The area will also be equipped with a Transjakarta stop that is integrated with Grogol Station. This integration is expected to facilitate intermodal transfers and encourage people to switch to public transportation.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office stated that the acceleration of work would continue to be carried out so that the operational target at the end of 2026 could be achieved. During the construction process, traffic engineering will be implemented gradually and the public is asked to comply with signs and instructions from officers in the field.
