Icha Doctor's Family Reports Alleged Intimidation of 3 TTU DPRD Members to NTT Police
KUPANG - The family of Doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, who is familiarly called Doctor Icha, plans to report the alleged bullying and intimidation that the deceased allegedly experienced to the East Nusa Tenggara Police (NTT).
The reporting plan will be carried out after the series of family prayer nights is completed. The family's lawyer said the report was aimed at three members of the North Central Timor (TTU) Regency DPRD who were allegedly bullied when Dr. Icha was on duty at the Leona Kefamenanu Hospital emergency room (IGD).
The family's lawyer, Victor Mambait, said the report was scheduled to be submitted to the NTT Regional Police on Friday, July 3, 2026.
According to Victor, the family suspected that the bullying and intimidation experienced by Doctor Icha caused severe psychological stress.
"After the series of thanksgiving was completed, the family planning on Friday next week complained about the alleged bullying or intimidation of Doctor Icha while carrying out his duties at the Leona Kefamenanu Hospital emergency installation to the NTT Regional Police," said Victor, Wednesday, July 1.
In his statement, Victor said the report would relate to alleged actions taken by three members of the TTU Regency DPRD, namely Veronika Lake (PDI Perjuangan), Teres Lasaka (Golkar Party), Nobertu Bani (National Awakening Party/PKB).
Until now, the allegations are still allegations and the legal process has not resulted in the determination of the party responsible.
Victor revealed that the TTU Police had summoned and questioned a number of witnesses, including the Leona Hospital and the three members of the DPRD who were mentioned in the case.
However, the family admitted that they had not received certainty whether the examination was part of the official investigation process or was still limited to collecting evidence.
"We appreciate the steps taken by the TTU Police who have conducted an investigation. However, we are still waiting for certainty regarding the status of the ongoing legal process," he said.
According to Victor, the alleged bullying crime reported does not include a complaint offense so that law enforcement officers can conduct an investigation without having to wait for a report from the victim.
On that basis, the family hopes that the police can investigate the case thoroughly in accordance with applicable laws.
In addition to the legal process, the family also asked the political party where the three members of the DPRD were sheltering to take disciplinary action if there was an alleged violation of the code of ethics.
Victor said his party had received information that the TTU DPRD Honor Committee was processing a complaint regarding alleged ethical violations. He also said that one of the DPRD members who was reported to have undergone an internal party examination and was reportedly temporarily disabled.
Meanwhile, the family hopes that the Golkar and PKB parties will also provide a clear stance on their cadres who are mentioned in the report.
"We want to see the party's firmness in taking disciplinary action against its members until this matter is resolved," said Victor.
