Prabowo Welcomes the President of Belarus at the Merdeka Palace

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the state visit of President of the Republic of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The motorcade of President Lukashenko entered the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, at around 11.23 WIB, Thursday, July 2.

President Lukashenko was escorted by 17 motorcyclists and 80 cavalry troops of the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres).

President Lukashenko's arrival was greeted with a dance from the East Kalimantan. President Prabowo also greeted President Lukashenko directly after getting off the vehicle he was riding in.

The two heads of state then shook hands and greeted each other. After that, the national anthem of both countries was played.

Furthermore, President Prabowo inspected the honor guard with President Lukashenko.

After that, President Prabowo introduced a number of members of the Red and White Cabinet, namely Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Minister of Investment and Industrialization Rosan Roeslani.

In addition, the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were also present.

The two leaders had a one-on-one meeting in President Prabowo's working room.

One of the agendas of President Lukashenko's state visit is to launch the "Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030" as a framework for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

The roadmap will serve as a reference for strengthening cooperation in various fields including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology.

Belarus is an important partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region and one of the key members of the Eurasian Economic Union (Eurasian Economic Union/EAEU). Indonesia and the EAEU have signed a free trade agreement (Indonesia-EAEU Free Trade Agreement) in December 2025.
