Pedal Padel Employee Victim of Kidnapping Reported to the Jaksel Police

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police has confirmed a report of alleged theft involving Abdul Latif (AL), a Pedal Padel employee who was previously suspected of being a victim of kidnapping and persecution.

Head of Public Relations of South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Joko Adi, said the report of the alleged theft was made on June 25, 2026 by the reporter with the initials MAS.

"Yes, on the morning of June 25, he came to the South Jakarta Police and reported the theft case. The reporter is MAS and the alleged reporter is AL," said Joko, Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Joko explained, based on the police report, the reported missing items were 10 padel rackets and a pair of shoes.

"From the police report, the items that have been reported stolen are 10 padel rackets and a pair of shoes. This matter is currently still in the investigation stage and there are several witnesses who have been invited and heard their statements," he said.

However, the police have not yet examined AL as the reported person. The examination of the person concerned will be carried out after the investigators collect information from witnesses.

"It will be scheduled again after other witnesses have been invited enough. Of course it will lead to the suspect, the reported," said Joko.

In addition, the owner of Pedal Padel has also not been questioned. The police confirmed that the owner would be called in for questioning to complete the investigation process.

"If the owner has not been heard, of course in the future he will be invited and heard about this case," he said.

Joko added that the alleged theft occurred before the alleged kidnapping and persecution case against AL. However, the report to the police was only made after the alleged kidnapping incident occurred.

"This is the first incident of the next incident, it was only reported after the next incident," said Joko.

Previously, the South Jakarta Metro Police had named four suspects in the alleged kidnapping and abuse case against AL.

The four suspects were charged with allegedly depriving someone of their independence, persecution, and violence together.
