There are those who pick up the Regent-Secretary of Kuansing when the KPK carries out the OTT of bribery in the sale of positions.

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) did not find Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby and the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kuansing Regency, Zulkarnain, when they carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT). The two are suspected of having been picked up earlier by parties who knew about the silent operation.

"That there is information that a party is picking up, it is also known by the team," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein at a press conference at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 1.

Even so, Taufik emphasized that his party continued to search for Suhardiman and Zulkarnain during the OTT. "To several locations (searched, ed), in Kuansing Regency and even in Pekanbaru, the team has also been divided to find the whereabouts of the person concerned," he said.

Later, investigators will investigate who leaked the silent operation to Suhardiman and Zulkarnain.

Moreover, the regent had tried to remove evidence in the form of a black Land Cruiser 300GRS which was suspected to have come from the bribe to buy and sell the position of the Regent of Kuansing Regency by selling it at the showroom.

"It is indeed between feeling or indeed the regent knows it himself directly, that is still being investigated, later what it will be like," said Taufik.

"But for efforts (to secure, ed), the regent then when he found out there was a team monitoring then the regent secured it by going to the showroom."

Meanwhile, Suhardiman was stunned when asked about the party who picked him up and secured him when the OTT occurred. He chose to walk to the KPK detention car that would take him to the detention house.

This moment occurred after he and Zulkarnain had finished being intensively examined and were officially imprisoned after surrendering and being picked up at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten.

Instead of answering where he was going, Suhardiman asked the public to pray for him.

"Thank you, please support the prayer, yes, we have the presumption of innocence, yes, we all pray together," he said briefly.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) of alleged bribes for filling the position of Kuansing Regent. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving.
