Rp19.41 Billion Road Improvement in Cik Di Tiro Completed, Facilitating Access to Kemiling Tourism

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the improvement of Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro in Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City, through the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Regional Road of 2025 or IJD.

The construction of the road worth Rp19.41 billion made the section which was previously narrow and could only be passed by one small vehicle wider, so that it could be crossed by large vehicles, including tourist buses.

The improvement of Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro is part of the implementation of Presidential Decree Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity in Supporting Food and Energy Self-sufficiency.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that IJD aims to provide infrastructure that provides direct benefits to the community.

"Through this Regional Road Inpres Program, the government ensures that the food supply chain runs smoothly from upstream to downstream and directly connects the production center area to consumption markets in a much more efficient and sustainable way. The impact will be felt immediately on the ground, the time taken for distribution will be shorter, the cost of logistics can be suppressed and the risk of crop damage during the journey can be minimized," said Dody as quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, July 1.

The improvement of Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro opens better access to tourist areas in Kemiling, ranging from hill climbing, ecotourism, educational tourism to family tourism.

From the road section, tourists can access a number of tourist destinations, such as the Vietnamese Village, Farm Day Mountain Side, the Curve of the Sky and the Durian Valley Farm Stable.

The government is building Teuku Cik Di Tiro Road along 928 meters with two lanes 15 meters wide using rigid concrete construction.

The road section is also equipped with a shoulder, natural stone sidewalk, drainage channel and street lighting.

The work funded by the 2025 State Budget (TA) worth Rp. 19.41 billion has been completed on January 10, 2026.

After the construction is completed, the assets of Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro will be handed over by the Lampung National Road Implementation Office to the Bandar Lampung City Government (Pemkot) in accordance with its authority.

Bandar Lampung Mayor Eva Dwiana expressed her appreciation for the support of the Ministry of PU through the Regional Road Inpres Program.

According to him, the increase in Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro supports the connectivity of the Kemiling tourist area as well as facilitating community mobility.

"This infrastructure is in line with the commitment of the Bandar Lampung City Government to provide better connectivity, support the development of the Kemiling tourism area, facilitate community mobility, and encourage economic growth and the welfare of residents," he said.

The construction of Jalan Teuku Cik Di Tiro is one of the sections that was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto simultaneously in Sampang Regency, Madura, some time ago along with a number of IJD projects.
