Bhayangkara's birthday, Prabowo to the Police, Law Cannot Be Sharp to the Bottom, There is No One Who is Immune

BOGOR - President Prabowo Subianto reminded the National Police to make the law a protector of the people, not a tool of interest. In front of thousands of personnel on the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara, Prabowo emphasized that there should be no criminalization, abuse of authority, or parties who are immune from the law.

Prabowo delivered the speech while leading the 80th Police Day ceremony at the Brimob Training Center, Cikeas, Bogor Regency, Wednesday (1/7).

According to Prabowo, Indonesia is a country of law. Therefore, the law must be enforced fairly and become a refuge for the community, especially the weak groups.

"The law should not be sharp downwards, blunt upwards. The law should not be a tool for those who have money. The law should not be a tool for political revenge," said Prabowo.

He also reminded that there should be no criminalization or abuse of authority in law enforcement.

"No one should be immune from the law," he said.

Prabowo said that small people must receive protection. People who seek justice must be served, the right person must feel safe, while the guilty must be held accountable.

The President assessed that public trust was the main capital of the National Police. Therefore, the police were asked to maintain integrity, approach the community, and not make it difficult for the people.

"Come when the people need it. Listen to the people. Serve the people. Protect the people. Don't make it difficult for the people," he said.

He also asked all members of the National Police to continue to improve professionalism by mastering science, technology, and artificial intelligence. According to him, future crimes can only be faced by the police who continue to learn.

At the end of his speech, Prabowo asked the National Police to remain humble and open to criticism.

"A strong institution is an institution that dares to change. An institution that is loved by the people is an institution that is always humble," he said.
