Kuansing Regent and Secretary of State undergo intensive KPK examination after being picked up at Soetta Airport

JAKARTA - The Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby and Zulkarnaen who are the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kuansing Regency underwent intensive examination by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after being picked up at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten on Tuesday evening, June 30.

The two were known to have fled and their whereabouts were sought by the team in the field when a series of hand-in-hand operations (OTT) was carried out. KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said Suhardiman and Zulkarnaen first surrendered before being picked up at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Both of them immediately underwent intensive examination," said Budi when confirmed by reporters quoted by Wednesday, July 1.

Budi explained that the two arrived at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at around 21.17 WIB last night.

"The person concerned surrendered and then the team took him from Soetta Airport for examination," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK held an OTT in the Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta regions since Monday, June 30. From this activity, 10 people were secured and five were taken to the KPK Red and White building.

Then, during this activity, electronic evidence in the form of financial transactions and one unit of a Mitsubishi Pajero car was also secured. This OTT is said to be related to bribery of buying and selling positions.

The KPK will officially announce the suspects and the construction of the case through a press conference on Wednesday, July 1.
