The alleged victim of fictitious deposits of Rp. 987 million was found directly by BCA Central.

JAKARTA - The case of a fictitious deposit reported by a customer of Bank Central Asia (BCA) Branch Kepanjen, Malang Regency, East Java, has again become a public concern. The matter that went viral on social media is now entering a new phase after the victim admitted that he had met with BCA Representative Wani Sabu to discuss the settlement.

The information was conveyed by the victim through the Threads social media account. In his post, he said the meeting was part of an effort to find a way out of the problem that had been going on for several years.

The victim hopes that the settlement process can proceed well. He also expressed his appreciation to the public who continue to provide support since the case has been widely discussed on social media.

"Today I have met with BCA Central which finally met with Mrs. Wanisabu, to help solve my case which occurred at the BCA branch in Malang," wrote the victim in his post.

Starting from the Offer of a Program Called "Internal Deposit"

This case first surfaced after the owner of the Threads @alfidakhlifa account admitted to being a victim of an alleged fictitious deposit at BCA Cabang Kepanjen.

According to the victim's statement, the problem began at the end of 2022 when a former Customer Service (CS) allegedly offered a program called "internal deposit". The victim admitted that he was asked to open a deposit in the name of his son who was then four years old.

The victim claimed to have received an explanation that the account of a minor was not equipped with a savings book or ATM card. Instead, he only received a deposit bill, account number, and proof of deposit as transaction documents.

For almost three years, the victim admitted that he regularly deposited funds through official transfers and tellers at BCA branch offices during operating hours. Because all transactions are carried out through procedures that appear official in the bank environment, the victim admitted that he had no reason to suspect any irregularities.

Funds Allegedly Not Entered into a Deposit Account

Suspicions arose when the victim checked and admitted that he found that the funds that had been believed to be deposited as deposits were allegedly never recorded as a deposit product.

In his confession, the funds were allegedly transferred to a SavingsKu type account. The victim also claimed that the ATM card for the account was made without his knowledge, while the PIN was said to be determined by another party before all the funds were allegedly withdrawn.

The victim estimated that the total loss he suffered amounted to around Rp987 million.

Until this news was aired, there was no court ruling stating that there was a criminal act in the case. The settlement process between the customer and BCA is said to still be ongoing.
