Medan's Pirngadi Hospital Spotlighted Because The Baby News Was Said To Be COVID-19, This Is The Hospital's Explanation

MEDAN - The service of the Pirngadi Hospital in Medan has again been complained of. This time it was the case of a baby who was declared COVID-19 reactive by the hospital.

The mother of baby Annisa, said that initially her child received a referral from the Stella Maris Hospital to the Pringadi Hospital on Monday, June 7.

At that time, his son had a negative COVID-19 letter based on a swab test at the Stella Maris Hospital. However, when her child was about to undergo surgery on Tuesday, June 8, Annisa received news from the medical personnel of the Pringadi Hospital who said her child was reactive to COVID-19.

Then he became suspicious. Because since his son entered the room to be treated, there was no direct contact.

In addition, Annisa admitted that she was always in front of her child's room being treated. Except at midnight to dawn because they have to rest.

Because of this, Annisa then called the Deputy Chairman of the Medan DPRD, Rajudin Sagala to complain about the matter. Rajuddin immediately called the Director of the Pirngadi Hospital in Medan.

After that, the director ordered his nurse to perform an antigen swab test on the patient before the operation.

The results of the antigen swab showed the baby was negative for COVID-19. Baby Annisa was finally operated on in a room not for COVID-19 patients.

With full concern because of her child's condition which is quite worrying, Annisa and her family are waiting for the medical process. After that, Annisa was also surprised by the news that her son could not be operated on.

The reason for the Pirngadi Hospital is that there is no medical equipment available to carry out the operation. His emotions were unstoppable targeting the medics on duty.

Separately, Public Relations of the Pirngadi Medan Hospital, Edison Warinangin, confirmed to reporters that there were patients (babies) being treated at the Pirngadi Hospital in Medan.

"We answered yesterday's viral news about Covid-19 yesterday. I need to convey here, according to the information collected, that it is true that the patient was being treated. He was sent from a private hospital which is planned to undergo surgery at the Pirngadi Hospital in Medan," he said.

According to Edison, the hospital checks the baby's condition with a rapid antigen test. Where this antigen checks for antibodies and the results are reactive, it is checked on Tuesday, June 8th. When the baby is going to be operated on, then the test is repeated until the result is negative.

"This is the reactive trigger, it's positive even though it's an antibody, so language appears as if Pirngadi has Covid-19, even though the second result is negative. If the video is true, it's in the hospital," he said.

Regarding the accusation of neglecting the patient who was about to undergo surgery, Edison denied it. He confirmed that the Pirngadi Hospital in Medan has an inspection SOP.

"We have an inspection SOP, not abandonment. At around 00.45 WIB there was a plan for an operation. However, at 00.55 WIB, the family asked for the repatriation and it was signed by her parents," he explained.

Regarding the patient's history, Edison said the baby came in on June 7 and came out on June 9 in the morning. When asked about the baby's illness, Edison explained that the patient had Obstructive Ileus.

"That's what surgery is about. Or the general name is that there is a disturbance in the intestine, a blockage that requires surgery. When he entered Dr Pirngadi Hospital, the patient was weak and short of breath," he said.
