Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Relations to the Visit of the President of Belarus with Minister of Foreign Affairs Ryzhenko
JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono received an honorary visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenko, on Selesa Day, as part of the series of State Visits by the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko to Indonesia on Thursday this week.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed preparations for the state visit, including several collaborations that will be deliverables of the visit.
Both parties expressed their appreciation for the close coordination between the ministries and agencies of the two countries in preparing for the visit, launching the statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuesday (30/6).
The two ministers also discussed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Belarus in various fields, including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology.
He said, Indonesia welcomed the plan to launch the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030 during the visit, which is expected to serve as a framework to encourage concrete and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the two foreign ministers also exchanged views on issues of common concern at the regional and global levels.
Both ministers expressed their belief that President Aleksandr Lukashenko's state visit to Indonesia would further strengthen Indonesia-Belarus relations and produce various forms of cooperation that would provide tangible benefits for the people of both countries.
It is known that Belarus is an important partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region and one of the key members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Indonesia and the EAEU have signed a free trade agreement (Indonesia - EAEU Free Trade Agreement) in December 2025.
