House of Representatives Chairman Requests SPPI KDKMP Training to Focus on Management
Chairman of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani asked that the training carried out for participants of the Indonesian Development Drivers Bachelor (SPPI) for the Red and White Village/Neighborhood Cooperative (KDKMP) and Red and White Fishermen Cooperative (KNMP) programs to be focused on managerial education.
Puan's statement was made in response to an evaluation of the basic military training (latsarmil) for the program. According to him, the evaluation that was carried out must be thorough after a number of participants died.
"It is better to focus more on management so that later we can carry out the implementation as expected," said Puan at a press conference after the plenary meeting, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 30.
Regarding the death of a number of participants in the SPPI KDKMP and KNMP, Puan also expressed her deepest condolences. Do not let, he said, the event that took away lives be repeated.
According to Puan, the DPR will also monitor the evaluations carried out on the training process for the program and follow up on it.
"That an evaluation has been carried out, yes we hope that it is an evaluation that can be carried out thoroughly," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense stopped basic military training (latsarmil) to the Indonesian Development Mover (SPPI) candidates for the management or manager of the Red and White Village/Neighborhood Cooperative (KDKMP) and the Red and White Fishermen Cooperative (KNMP).
"The Ministry of Defense is adjusting the approach to activities. The terminology and implementation of current activities are directed to be National Defense and Managerial Training, not Latsarmil anymore," said the Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait.
The change was made after the Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin evaluated the learning system, after the incident of five latsarmil participants died. With this evaluation, Rico ensured that physical activities and training related to military training would be reduced.
