Geo Dipa Energy Strengthens the Future of Indonesia's Geothermal with RISE with SAP

JAKARTA - PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero), an Indonesian state-owned geothermal company, has successfully modernized its enterprise core system through the RISE with SAP journey to improve asset reliability and support Indonesia's ambitions in renewable energy development.

As one of the strategic players in Indonesia's energy transition, Geo Dipa Energi operates geothermal assets in Dieng and Patuha with an installed capacity of around 120 MW and potential resources of more than 800 MW. To accelerate the company's growth while supporting increasingly complex operations across the geothermal value chain, the company has embarked on a digital transformation to modernize legacy systems, simplify business processes, and deliver data-driven decision-making in real-time.

To support this step, Geo Dipa Energi chose RISE with SAP, a guided transformation journey designed for SAP ERP customers, with proven methodologies, advanced tools, and expert guidance.

President Director of PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero), Yudistian Yunis said, as a state-owned enterprise entrusted to advance the future of Indonesia's geothermal energy, Geo Dipa Energi needs a system that has a vision far into the future as the mission entrusted.

"For Geo Dipa, this transformation is more than just technology - it's about how we can run operations more intelligently so that we can provide more efficient and reliable geothermal energy for Indonesia," he said in a written statement, Jakarta, June 30.

According to him, RISE with SAP provides a modern data-based foundation that allows for better decision-making. "At the same time, keep operational costs under control as the company grows," he added.

Through the adoption of SAP Cloud ERP through RISE with SAP, the company is now running its operations on a single integrated platform that connects data and business processes across the organization. This allows real-time visibility, improves asset reliability, simplifies supply chains, and standardizes operations, while strengthening governance, accelerating reporting processes, and supporting a more scalable cloud-based operational model to support future growth.

Meanwhile, Managing Director, SAP Indonesia Sianto Wongjoyo said, as organizations face an increasingly complex operational environment, especially in the energy sector, a modern digital foundation is an important element to increase business agility and resilience.

"By adopting SAP Cloud ERP through RISE with SAP, Geo Dipa Energi is able to connect business processes and data to improve the quality of decision-making, as well as stepping towards an autonomous enterprise, where integrated data, AI, and automation enable more adaptive and intelligent operations across the organization," said Sianto.

This transformation was successfully completed in just four months through collaboration with PT Soltius Indonesia, SAP Platinum Partner, which supports the implementation and integration of Geo Dipa Energi's core business processes end-to-end into one integrated cloud platform.

President Director of PT Soltius Indonesia Bernardy Suhendra said, Geo Dipa is not only improving its technological landscape capabilities; the company is building a digital foundation that will support its business for the future.

"Our role is to ensure that this transformation provides real value to the way companies run their operations every day," said Bernardy.

With its new platform, Geo Dipa Energi can now run operations with better consistency, transparency, and control across the organization. This transformation also opens up opportunities to leverage analytics, automation, and AI capabilities, so that companies can explore a range of more advanced capabilities as their business grows.
