Bogor DPRD Urges Parking and Food Court Upgrades at Jambu Dua Market

BOGOR - Chairman of Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD, Achmad Rifki Alaydrus, provided a number of inputs to the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) and Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya after reviewing the Jambu Dua Market, Monday, June 29. The input was focused on improving visitor comfort and strategies to increase trading activities in the market.

The review was carried out together with the Mayor of Bogor Dedie A. Rachim, Deputy Mayor of Jenal Mutaqin, and the Bogor City Government to see firsthand the readiness of facilities for traders and the community.

"Today we are following a direct review of the Jambu Dua Market with the Bogor City Government, in this case the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and the City Government, to ensure the readiness of facilities and comfort for traders and the public who shop," said Rifki.

Based on the results of the review, Rifki appreciated the physical condition of the Jambu Dua Market, which was considered to be much more representative than before. According to him, kiosks, los, parking areas, loading and unloading lanes, and various other supporting facilities are available.

However, the Bogor City DPRD assessed that there were still a number of aspects that needed to be immediately improved so that the market was increasingly sought after by the public. Rifki asked the management to optimize parking capacity, improve access to transportation to the market, arrange visitor traffic, and improve cleanliness and security.

Special attention was also given to the culinary area on the second floor. According to Rifki, the air circulation at the location is still less optimal so that it needs to add fans or blowers so that visitors feel more comfortable.

"There are still several things that need attention, especially the optimization of parking capacity, transportation access, visitor flow arrangement, cleanliness, security, and the need to add things like fans or blowers on the second floor which is currently a culinary center," he said.

In addition to improving facilities, Rifki also encourages strategies to increase the number of visitors. According to him, the modern market building must be balanced with high buying and selling activities so that traders can really feel the benefits of market revitalization.

"A good market must be followed by a high level of public visits, so that traders can earn a decent income," he said.

Rifki emphasized that Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD would continue to monitor the evaluation of the management of the Jambu Dua Market together with the Bogor City Government and Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya so that the traditional market would develop into a comfortable, orderly people's trading center, as well as be able to encourage the economic growth of the people of Bogor City.
