Physical Progress Achieved 89.57 Percent, Bekasi People's School Applies the Concept of Gentengisasi

Cikarang People's School development in Bekasi Regency, West Java, continues to show significant progress.

As of June 28, 2026, the physical progress achievement has reached 89.57 percent and is targeted to be ready for operation in the 2026/2027 New Academic Year.

One of the attractions of this project built by the Ministry of Public Works (PU) is the implementation of the "roofing" concept, namely the use of roof tiles on all buildings in the school area.

This concept is applied to school buildings, student dormitories, to teachers' apartment houses so that it presents an aesthetic appearance while creating a more shady and comfortable atmosphere in the education area.

PU Minister, Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that the construction of the People's School is part of President Prabowo Subianto's government's priority program in improving the quality of human resources through the provision of decent and integrated education.

Therefore, Minister Dody emphasized the importance of maintaining the commitment to completing the work so that the acceleration of construction work so that the facilities can be immediately utilized in the new school year.

"This is the President's priority program to eradicate extreme poverty through decent education, especially for children from pre-prosperous families. The way is to send their sons and daughters to proper and good schools, boarding schools, given nutritious clothes and food," he added.

The Cikarang People's School was built on an area of 5.41 hectares with a total building area of 26,880 square meters.

This project worth Rp. 262 billion was carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya and PT Prima in the operation cooperation scheme (KSO), involving around 920 workers.

This educational area is designed as an integrated complex equipped with various facilities to support learning and character development of students.

The facilities include school buildings for elementary, middle, and high schools, student and teacher dormitories, multipurpose buildings, guest houses, canteens, mini soccer fields, basketball courts, and computer laboratories, language laboratories, skill rooms, and art rooms.

With the concept of boarding schools and integrated facilities, the Cikarang People's School is expected to be able to provide a comfortable learning environment while supporting the improvement of the quality of education for students.

The PU Ministry targets that all construction work can be completed according to schedule so that the Cikarang People's School is ready to be used to welcome students in the 2026/2027 New Academic Year.
