Bulog Tarik MinyaKita Production of PT KMR After Allegedly Smelling Solar
JAKARTA - Perum Bulog has ordered the withdrawal of all people's cooking oil products with the MinyaKita brand produced by PT Kusuma Mukti Remaja (PT KMR) which has been distributed to the public.
The decision was taken after the President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, carried out a sudden inspection (sidak) to the production facilities of PT KMR on Saturday, June 27.
The investigation was carried out following reports from the public regarding the alleged MinyaKita product smelling of diesel in a number of food assistance recipients, including Karanganyar Regency, Klaten, and Wonogiri.
During the review, Ahmad Rizal examined all stages of production, from the receipt of raw materials, processing, packaging, to product storage.
Checks were also carried out on the condition of production facilities to ensure the implementation of quality standards, food safety, and hygiene.
Based on the results of the initial examination in the field and community reports, Bulog found indications that the MinyaKita product produced by PT KMR smelled like solar.
Therefore, the company decided to withdraw all products that had been circulating as a precautionary measure and ordered laboratory tests to find out the exact cause of the alleged incident.
"Bulog will not tolerate products that do not meet quality standards. As a form of protection for the community, all MinyaKita products produced by PT KMR that have been distributed are ordered to be immediately withdrawn. Furthermore, laboratory testing is carried out so that the cause can be scientifically determined and become the basis for the next step," said Ahmad Rizal in an official statement, Monday, June 29.
Bulog ensures that the withdrawal process is carried out quickly and coordinated with manufacturers and related parties.
People who have received the MinyaKita product produced by PT KMR will also receive a replacement with a product that meets quality standards so that consumer rights are still protected.
Ahmad Rizal emphasized that protecting the community is Bulog's top priority.
Therefore, any product suspected of not meeting quality standards will be immediately withdrawn from circulation while awaiting the results of laboratory testing.
"This step is a form of Bulog's responsibility in ensuring that every food commodity distributed to the public meets the established safety and quality standards," he said.
In the future, Bulog will continue to strengthen joint supervision with all partners along the supply chain to ensure that every food commodity distributed to the public meets safety, quality, and consumption standards.
