Responding to Jokowi Stepping on a Water Buffalo Head in Lampung, PDIP: It's Okay, We are the Head of the Bull
JAKARTA - The Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Honorary Affairs, Komarudin Watubun, responded to the viral photo of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, stepping on the head of a buffalo during the acceptance of an honorary adat title in Lampung.
Responding casually, Komarudin did not bother about it and said it had nothing to do with the logo of the party with the white-nosed bull.
"Oh, it's okay, we're not buffalo heads, we're bull heads. So it has nothing to do with it. The only one who can explain the trampling is Mr. Jokowi himself," said Komarudin at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, June 29.
According to Komarudin, Jokowi is only a former member of his party. Therefore, at this time, Jokowi is no longer the business of PDIP.
"For me, Jokowi is the past of the PDI Perjuangan. So whatever his activities, I don't want to respond because he is no longer part of the party," he said.
"But when it comes to the head, yes, stepping on the head of a buffalo, yes, it's a buffalo, not a cow, right. So there's no need for the PDI-P to respond to that matter," added the DPR member.
Komarudin assessed that PDIP would react if Jokowi insulted his party by stepping on the head of a bull.
"Not a bull. Unless the bull's head is stepped on, we will definitely deal with it," he said.
