State Expenditure in East Kalimantan Rp15 Trillion Dominated by Toll Projects Supporting IKN

JAKARTA - State spending in East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) from January to May 31, 2026 was realized at Rp. 15.02 trillion for various activities, with the dominance of the construction of free-flowing roads alias toll roads supporting the smooth running of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

"This realization is equivalent to 37.74 percent of the ceiling of Rp. 39.81 trillion," said the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (Kanwil DJPb) for East Kalimantan Province, Tjahjo Purnomo in Samarinda, Monday, June 29, reported by ANTARA.

This absorption is supported by Central Government Expenditures (BPP) of IDR 6.2 trillion or 34.99 percent of the ceiling, with the realization of capital expenditures of IDR 3.16 trillion, most of which was used for the construction of toll roads as support for IKN infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the realization of employee spending amounted to Rp. 2.03 trillion or absorbed 44.86 percent of the ceiling, and goods spending had been realized at Rp. 998.78 billion or 26.43 percent of the ceiling.

"As for the distribution of transfer funds to the regions, as of May 31, it amounted to Rp. 8.82 trillion or 39.96 percent of the ceiling," said Tjahjo.

So far, he said, the general allocation fund (DAU), physical special allocation fund (DAK), and non-physical DAK, recorded growth in distribution compared to the same period last year.

The realization of DAU was IDR 5.07 trillion or 43.93 percent, physical DAK IDR 2.72 billion or 11.04 percent, and non-physical DAK IDR 1.19 trillion or 44.26 percent of the respective ceilings.

Meanwhile, the revenue sharing fund (DBH) experienced a decrease compared to the same period last year, with a realization of IDR 2.44 trillion or 32.41 percent of the ceiling.

For village funds, Rp106.24 billion or 39.97 percent of the ceiling has been disbursed. For the disbursement of people's business loans (KUR), Rp2.05 trillion has been realized which was disbursed to 23,902 debtors, for micro-business Rp28.67 billion was realized which was disbursed to 4,323 debtors.

"Overall, the East Kalimantan fiscal performance until May 2026 shows a solid performance, illustrating the commitment of effective state spending to oversee the development of strategic infrastructure and strengthen the people's economy through the distribution of business capital," he said.

This, he said again, reflects the real role of the State Budget as a main driving force that not only maintains stability, but also actively encourages the momentum of regional economic growth that is optimistic, inclusive, and sustainable.
