Promoter Says Guns N' Roses Concert in Jakarta Is One of the Most Expensive Productions
JAKARTA - American hard rock band Guns N' Roses (GNR) is confirmed to greet their fans in Indonesia again in their world tour series.
The iconic band is scheduled to hold a concert at the Madya Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, Central Jakarta, on November 21.
The return of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan to Jakarta marks a new chapter after eight years ago they successfully rocked the capital.
Not only bringing nostalgia through a row of hit songs, Guns N' Roses will also present material from their two latest singles released after 2023, "Nothin'" and "Atlas".
Anas Alimi, Founder of Rajawali Indonesia as a promoter, said that the process of bringing GNR back to the country requires a long struggle. Intensive communication with the band's management has even been going on for almost a year.
"Actually, GNR wanted to come in 2025. And that was with us. But it turns out that suddenly they decided to play in Bangkok, not in Jakarta," said Anas, when met in Senayan, Central Jakarta, recently.
"Then they told us, the agency, that for Jakarta it was this year. And thank God it was. Our communication has been almost a year," he continued.
GNR's decision to choose Indonesia is quite exclusive. For the Southeast Asian region. So far, they have confirmed that they will only perform in two countries.
"Yesterday, he wanted to go to KL (Kuala Lumpur), the information was yes, but finally it was decided only in Indonesia and in Singapore. Even after there were two shows in India," added Anas.
In terms of production, the promoter promises a magnificent and international-scale performance. This concert is touted as one of the largest productions ever handled by Rajawali Indonesia.
"This is indeed the most expensive. Because this is already a tier A band," said Anas explaining the escalation of production costs.
The President Director of Rajawali Indonesia, Tovic Raharja, added that the presence of this band was a great honor.
"Bringing Guns N' Roses back to Indonesia is a special honor for us. This is a moment that will be remembered by Indonesian rock music fans across generations," he said.
This grand concert is expected to provide a massive positive impact on the tourism and creative economy ecosystem in Jakarta.
Ticket sales themselves will be divided into three main phases to anticipate the high enthusiasm of buyers.
Phase one, Nightrain Fans/Artist Presale, will open on July 2 with a limited quota of around 4,500 tickets to prioritize fans.
Furthermore, the second phase of Bale by BTN Presale will be opened on July 16, 2026 with an allocation of 15,000 tickets. Finally, general sales or General Sale through the TipTip platform and Bale by BTN will begin on July 30 to spend all the remaining quota of available tickets.
