Nijiro Murakami Speaks Out Regarding the Assault Case of His Ex-Girlfriend

JAKARTA - Japanese actor Nijiro Murakami spoke up about the alleged case of abuse of his ex-girlfriend that circulated last week. Reportedly, this incident took place from March to May 2024 in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Nikkan Sports reported that Murakami abused his ex-girlfriend four times, from hitting her, pulling her hair, even slamming her head into a window. As a result, the woman needed more than a month to recover.

The case was investigated by the Harajuku Police before being handed over to prosecutors for further investigation after the woman filed a report.

Murakami is said to have responded to the Harajuku Police report by saying, "There is no doubt that I hurt him (ex-girlfriend)." In addition, the management has not responded.

Sunday, June 28, Nijiro Murakami made a statement to the public and fans through his Instagram account. He wrote a statement in Japanese and English.

"I want to apologize for the concern I caused to everyone involved and to all fans and supporters," wrote Nijiro Murakami.

"For those who have always supported me, I will talk about this with my own voice in the future," he continued.

Nijiro Murakami is a young Japanese actor who is known internationally through the series Alice in Borderland as Chisiya.

The actor is also scheduled to return to acting through the film Strange - Junji Ito's Strange Stories That Keep You Up at Night on July 3.

The case of the persecution of Murakami's ex-girlfriend is still in the investigation stage and the prosecutor will determine whether the case will enter the investigation stage.
