New Record, Pramono: Ragunan Visitors Reach 135,500 People During the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the Ragunan Wildlife Park recorded the highest daily visitor numbers in history during the series of celebrations for the 499th anniversary of Jakarta and the weekend holiday.
As many as more than 135,500 people crowded the tourist area on Sunday, June 28. Pramono said the surge in visitors occurred after the DKI Provincial Government provided free access to a number of tourist destinations and public transportation fares of Rp. 1 for 22-24 June, and 27-28 June 2026.
"Yesterday Sunday in Ragunan, more than 135,500 people were present. So far, the record is 113,000, that was welcoming the new year last year. Now it's 135,500. That is, the public community is taking advantage of it," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, June 29.
In addition to Ragunan, Pramono said the number of visitors to Ancol also set a new record. Meanwhile, for the National Monument (Monas), he admitted that he was still waiting for an official report.
"We also give freedom to residents from anywhere to be able to use the facilities owned by Jakarta for recreation such as Ragunan, Ancol, Monas, existing museums, existing GOR-GOR," he said.
According to Pramono, the high enthusiasm of the community shows that the policy has succeeded in attracting residents to travel to Jakarta, including people from outside the area.
Pramono assessed that easy access to transportation and free entrance tickets were the main attraction for tourists outside Jakarta during the school holidays.
"Yesterday, many people took advantage of Ragunan were from outside the city because their transportation in Jakarta was only Rp1, free entry to Ancol and Ragunan, so the record was all solved," said Pramono.
"So for the next five centuries, I will think of other things, how the people from outside the city, especially welcome this holiday, it is the school children's holiday, they can go to Jakarta better," he continued.
