Four Hours Stuck in the Lubang Proyek Tebet, 4-Year-Old Boy Dies

Bocah berinisial I (4 tahun) meninggal dunia setelah terjebak selama sekitar empat jam di dalam lubang proyek pembangunan lapangan multifungsi di kawasan Manggarai, Tebet, Jakarta Selatan.

The victim was successfully evacuated alive, but his life was not saved on the way to the hospital.

"The condition of the toddler victim is not helped," said Tebet Police Chief AKP Ischak to reporters in Jakarta, Sunday.

The boy was declared alive during the evacuation process but was not helped while in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tebet Sector, Sudin Gulkarmat Jaksel, Kusnanto added that his party also helped evacuate from the scene to the hospital.

"My members who carried out the evacuation and were also witnessed by local residents, are still alive. So there was no help on the way to the hospital," said Kusnanto.

Until now, the cause of the child falling into the project pit is still being investigated further.

On Sunday morning, the police received a report from residents about a child who had fallen into a project hole in Taman RW 04, Jalan Manggarai Utara II, Manggarai Village, Tebet District.

The incident occurred at around 23.40 WIB, when the victim was playing with his friends around the project area.

The victim then fell into the project hole with a depth of about 3.5 to 4 meters and a diameter of about 30 x 30 centimeters (cm).

The victim's friends then asked for help from the Manggarai Tactical Command Post (Poskotis) officers, who were then forwarded to the Tebet Police function picket officers by visiting the crime scene (TKP).

In the initial stage, officers tried to carry out manual evacuation by inserting small-bodied personnel into the hole to pull the victim out.

However, these efforts have not yielded results because of the narrow size of the hole and the condition of the victim who is traumatized.

The officers then coordinated with a number of related institutions, including the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Tebet Health Center, Tebet Hospital, and brought heavy equipment to assist in the rescue process.

Two units of excavators were deployed to carry out excavation carefully by first making a safe path on the side of the hole to avoid landslides.

The police also set up a police line around the location to secure the area and prevent crowds of residents from obstructing the evacuation process.

After the rescue process lasted about four hours, the victim was finally evacuated at around 03.55 WIB and immediately taken to RSCM for further medical treatment.
