ASDP Operates 30 Ships for Urai Crossing Density Ketapang-Gilimanuk

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) operates 28 to 30 ships every day to accelerate the decomposition of vehicle density on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk track. This effort is accompanied by traffic engineering and service optimization at a number of piers. Now, the vehicle queue is gradually broken down.

The steps to accelerate handling are carried out by ASDP together with the Ministry of Transportation, KSOP, the Police, the Banyuwangi Regency Government, the East Java Provincial Government, and all ship operators. This synergy is carried out to maintain the smoothness of Java-Bali connectivity which has a strategic role for community mobility and national logistics distribution.

ASDP President Director Heru Widodo said all stakeholders are moving quickly to maintain the smooth connectivity of Java-Bali which has a strategic role for community mobility and logistics distribution.

"We understand the inconvenience felt by service users and apologize for the conditions that have occurred. From the beginning, all stakeholders have worked together to ensure that services continue to run safely, smoothly, and reliably," said Heru in an official statement, Sunday, June 28.

Meanwhile, ASDP Ketapang Branch General Manager Arief Eko Kurniansjah said all operational resources in the field had been optimized to accelerate the breakdown of vehicle queues.

"We operate 28 to 30 ships every day, optimizing services at MB, LCM, Bulusan, and pontoon docks, and implementing a Tiba-Bongkar-Berangkat (TBB) pattern to speed up the sailing cycle. Together with all stakeholders, we also arrange traffic, group vehicles, and use the Bulusan parking lot so that the queue can be gradually resolved," he explained.

Arief said that the vehicle density at Ketapang Port was influenced by a combination of a number of factors, ranging from increased community mobility during school holidays, weather conditions that impacted the pattern of shipping operations, to adjustments to the distribution of logistics vehicles from other tracks to Ketapang-Gilimanuk.

In addition to operating dozens of ships and other steps, Arief said, his party also made arrangements for docks that were adjusted to the characteristics of vehicles.

Private vehicles are prioritized through MB I, MB II, MB III, and pontoon docks, while large logistics vehicles are served through MB IV and three LCM docks to minimize mixing conflicts and speed up the loading and unloading process.

On the land side, ASDP together with Satlantas Polresta Banyuwangi activated the Bulusan parking lot as a buffer zone that can accommodate around 400 logistics vehicles. Trucks of grade VI and above are directed to enter the area as part of the land delay system so that the pier is ready to receive new cargo.

Meanwhile, small vehicles and private vehicles from the south of Banyuwangi are diverted through the Ketapang Ring Road to reduce congestion on the arterial road to the port.

ASDP also continues to coordinate with BMKG and related authorities to monitor weather developments and adjust operating patterns if necessary. Users of the service are urged to pay attention to weather information, plan their trips well, and purchase tickets through Ferizy before arriving at the port.

During the school holiday period, the public can also take advantage of the Discount Crossing Tariff Program in the form of a 100 percent discount on port services, which on average is equivalent to around 21.9 percent of the total crossing ticket tariff on seven strategic national routes, including Ketapang-Gilimanuk.

ASDP ensures that it will continue to monitor and evaluate together with all stakeholders to ensure that crossing services remain optimal and that the connectivity between Java and Bali is maintained.
