Jasinga Bogor People's School Worth Rp284 Million Almost Complete, Ready to Become an Education Center as Well as an Economic Driver
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is speeding up the completion of the People's School in Sipak Village, Jasinga District, Bogor Regency, West Java, ahead of the start of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.
Standing on an area of 6.96 hectares in a hilly area, this school is designed to be an integrated educational area that can accommodate up to 1,080 students from elementary, middle, and high school levels.
In addition to the school building, this area is also equipped with a male and female dormitory, teacher housing, multipurpose building, place of worship, canteen, sports field, green open space, and various other supporting facilities.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the construction of the People's School was a long-term investment by the government in improving the quality of human resources.
"The construction of this People's School is a tangible form of the government's commitment to building superior human resources. The PU Ministry wants to ensure that these educational facilities are built quickly and with quality so that they can immediately be used by the community and support the equalization of access to education," he said.
Behind the acceleration of construction, the project worth Rp. 284 billion faced challenges in the form of contour land conditions, high rainfall, and limited access to material distribution.
Head of the Strategic Infrastructure Sector of West Java, Tomi Hendratno, said that the area, which was previously a forest with a fairly extreme slope, has now been successfully arranged into an educational area.
"However, the PU Ministry can implement it from the contoured land to be transformed into an education center and an economic growth center," he said.
As of June 26, 2026, the progress of construction has reached 80.21 percent. Currently, work is entering the finishing stage as well as strengthening the retaining wall.
A total of 960 workers along with 25 personnel from the Territorial Development TNI-AD were deployed to accelerate the completion of the project, which is targeted to start operating in July 2026.
