Nikah Fest 2026 Facilitates 50 Couples to Marry for Free, Wamenag asks Households to be Taken Care of with Love
JAKARTA - A total of 50 couples of prospective brides and grooms attended the Nikah Fest 2026 held by the Ministry of Religion in Jakarta, Saturday (27/6). This program not only facilitates a free nikah, but also helps all administrative processes to basic wedding needs.
Of these, 31 couples held a marriage contract at the event location, while the other 19 couples married at the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) according to their respective domicile.
The Nikah Fest 2026 entitled One Stop Nikah Solution is held by the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religion in conjunction with the Islamic Wedding Expo 2026 on June 27-28. This activity is part of the Peaceful Muharam 1448 Hijriah series.
Deputy Minister of Religion, Romo Syafi'i, said the program was a form of the state's presence to help people who want to get married, but are constrained by costs and administrative processes.
"This activity is proof of the state's presence in providing religious services to the community, especially for those who are determined to get married, but are still burdened by the issue of costs and administrative processes," said Romo Syafi'i.
According to him, marriage does not stop at the akad procession. The real challenge begins when the couple builds a household life.
He reminded that every couple has been equipped with two main foundations in family life, namely mawaddah and rahmah or love and affection.
"God has equipped us with love and affection. This feeling is not learned, it cannot be bought, and it is not the gift of anyone. That is the main capital to take care of the household," he said.
Romo Syafi'i added that a harmonious family is the foundation for the birth of a strong community and nation.
"Good nations are born from good families. Therefore, marriage is not only a matter of two people, but also part of building society, nation, and state," he said.
Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Abu Rokhmad said all participants received services without charge. The facilities provided include administrative and registration of marriage, makeup services, to transportation money assistance for couples.
Through this program, the Ministry of Religion hopes that more couples will no longer postpone marriage due to cost and administrative complexity.
