PLN Jakarta Raya Emission Test Vehicle, Here are the Results

JAKARTA - A total of 57 operational vehicles of PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Unit (UID) Greater Jakarta were declared to pass the emission test with a pass rate of 100 percent. The results were obtained from testing carried out together with the Environment Service of the North Jakarta Administration City at the PLN Sunter Warehouse, Thursday (25/6).

The tested fleet consists of 42 gasoline-powered vehicles and 15 solar-powered vehicles. All of them meet the emission quality standards in accordance with the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 8 of 2023.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin said that emission tests are carried out periodically to ensure that operational vehicles remain usable while meeting environmental regulations.

"PLN is not only committed to providing reliable electricity supply, but also ensuring that every operational activity pays attention to environmental aspects. Through periodic emission tests, we want to support the improvement of air quality in Jakarta while ensuring that the operational fleet remains in good condition in serving customers," said Andy in a written statement, Saturday (27/6).

According to Andy, emission testing is also a preventive step to maintain vehicle performance so that it remains efficient and ready to support the reliability of electrical services.

He added that this activity was the result of collaboration between PLN UID Jakarta Raya and the North Jakarta Administration Environmental Service Division as part of efforts to control air pollution in Jakarta.

The results of this emission test, continued Andy, are one of the indicators that PLN's operational fleet meets the applicable emission standards so that it can continue to be used to support services to the community.

In addition to ensuring compliance with regulations, PLN also makes emission testing a part of the implementation of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in the management of the company's operations.
