Minister of Transmigration: Transmigration Patriot Followed by Enrollees from World Campus
JAKARTA - Minister of Transmigration (Mentrans) M Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara revealed that the Patriot Transmigration Program was also followed by applicants from world campuses.
"That's why, now we are also opening the door for them. We are also opening the door for them, who are they? Other campuses. This year, 10,395 undergraduate students from 1,952 campuses are listed. There are even world campuses, such as from Australia, some from England as well, and so on. So, they also want to participate," said Iftitah in Jakarta, Friday.
He said that the Ministry of Transmigration would provide training for 1,476 Patriot Transmigrants who would be sent to 53 transmigration areas.
According to him, if the focus of the Patriot Transmigration was previously research and mapping of economic potential, then currently the focus is on community service.
"Primarily to Papua, we have sent 1,000 Patriot transmigrants, they are from 10 main partner campuses, but there are also 147 non-partner campuses," he said.
Iftitah said that there were young generations and non-partner campuses who were interested in applying and wanted to be involved in the Patriot Transmigration program.
"That's why, now we open any undergraduate graduate can participate," he said.
The Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) provides opportunities for Indonesian young generations to be directly involved in national development through the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) 2026, one of the parts of the Patriot Transmigration program.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Social Affairs Eva Julianti Yunizar stated that many young people want to contribute to society, but have not found the right space to make it happen.
He said the involvement of the younger generation was needed to accelerate the transformation and progress of the region, especially areas that have the potential to become new economic growth centers.
His party also held the Patriot Transmigration program to provide opportunities for young people from various educational backgrounds to participate in the development of the potential of the transmigration area, in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 29 of 2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 15 of 1997 concerning Transmigration.
The program, as reported by Antara, facilitates Indonesian young people to map the potential of the region, identify development challenges, and formulate ideas that can support economic development and improve people's welfare.
The Ministry of Transmigration has confirmed its commitment to transparency in the recruitment process for the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team (TEP).
