BENGKULU - Investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bengkulu Police have picked up YN alias Cik Oboy, who is accused of a suspected Ponzi investment that is suspected of causing damage to around 90 victims with a loss value of tens of billions of rupiah.
Head of Public Relations of the Bengkulu Police, Kombes Ichsan Nur, said the pick-up was carried out after YN twice failed to meet the call of investigators from the Sub Directorate of Fismondev Ditreskrimsus of the Bengkulu Police.
"The pick-up process is carried out by personnel from the Bengkulu Police's Ditreskrimsus with a focus on professionalism, proportionality, and respect for the rights of the reported witnesses during the legal process. The status of the person concerned is still reported," said Ichsan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 26.
Based on the information collected, YN was arrested by the team of Subdirectorate II Fismondev Ditreskrimsus Bengkulu Police, which was supported by the Cyber Team in the Lampung Province.
After being secured, YN was taken to Bengkulu for further examination and legal proceedings.
Ichsan said the pick-up was part of the investigators' efforts to ensure that the investigation process was effective in accordance with legal provisions.
He emphasized that the Bengkulu Police were committed to carrying out every process of law enforcement in a professional, transparent, and accountable manner.
Previously, the investment in the guise of a scam that was allegedly managed by YN was reported to have caused losses to the victims of billions of rupiah. Until now, around 90 people have filed complaints with the Subdirectorate of Fismondev Ditreskrimsus Polda Bengkulu.
Investigators are still investigating the flow of funds, the investment mechanism implemented, and collecting evidence to uncover the alleged criminal act. The number of victims and the value of losses are still being recorded and it is not impossible that they will increase.
