Starting July 2026, the Central Umrah Departure at Terminal 2F Soetta
JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) will focus on departure services for umrah pilgrims who use the Umrah Travel Organizer (PPIU) through the Special Haji and Umrah Terminal 2F Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta). This policy will be implemented gradually starting July 1, 2026.
The centralization of this service refers to the Circular Letter of the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Number SE-DJPU 12 of 2026 concerning the Regulation of Air Transportation Passenger Services for Hajj and Umrah Through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi said that centralized services through Terminal 2F are provided to provide a more comfortable, orderly, and organized travel experience for umrah pilgrims from arrival at the airport to departure to the Holy Land.
"Terminal Khusus Haji dan Umrah 2F has been optimally prepared to serve the needs of umrah pilgrims. With more complete facilities, wider areas, and special operational support, we want to ensure that every pilgrim receives the best service from the beginning of their religious journey," said Heru in an official statement, Friday, June 26.
According to Heru, Terminal 2F has an area of 27,418 square meters and has been equipped with various facilities designed specifically to meet the needs of umrah pilgrims and their escorting families.
The facilities include a waiting room with a capacity of up to 3,000 people and a mosque with an area of 3,136 square meters which can accommodate around 1,000 worshipers.
In addition, said Heru, there are 20 check-in counters specifically for umrah pilgrims.
Thus, the process of reporting departure and baggage delivery is carried out separately from regular passengers so that the departure process can take place faster and more comfortably.
"In addition, airport officers specifically focus on providing services to pilgrims and umrah, because there are no regular passengers in this terminal," he said.
Stages of implementation of centralized services
Heru said that the implementation of centralized services was carried out gradually through a split operations scheme according to the schedule that had been set.
In the initial phase starting July 1, 2026, umrah pilgrims using Long Air, Hainan Airlines, and Saudia Airlines will be served through Terminal 2F.
Furthermore, starting July 8, 2026, the service is expanded for departures with Scoot and Turkish Airlines.
Then starting July 15, 2026, Terminal 2F will also serve umrah pilgrims using Qatar Airways, Egypt Air, Oman Air, Emirates, and Etihad Airways.
Heru explained that the implementation was carried out gradually to ensure that the operational transition process ran optimally while providing time for airlines, PPIU, regulators, and all stakeholders to adjust the service mechanism.
"The implementation is carried out gradually so that services for umrah pilgrims run smoothly. We continue to coordinate with airlines, PPIU, regulators, and all stakeholders to ensure that each stage can run well," he said.
For information, Terminal 2F itself has served the departure of umrah pilgrims through a number of operational stages. This terminal began to be used for Lion Air charter flights in 2022, then served Garuda Indonesia charter and regular flights in 2025.
After undergoing various improvements to facilities and operational schemes, the terminal is now ready to serve the departure of a wider group of umrah pilgrims starting July 2026.
