PPSU Car Hits a Tree in Kalideres, 5 People Injured

JAKARTA - Five Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) officers were victims after the open-top car they were riding hit a tree on Jalan Utan Jati, Kalideres, West Jakarta (Jakbar).

As a result of the accident, two officers had to be rushed to the hospital because they had suffered serious injuries.

In addition, the condition of the vehicle was also severely damaged in the front. The front glass of the car was destroyed by the hard impact with the tree in the middle of the road divider.

Wati, one of the eyewitnesses at the scene, said the incident happened suddenly.

According to him, the open-top car was actually traveling at low speed from Daan Mogot to Taman Surya.

"It's not fast, the car is slow, mah. Suddenly, this tree was hit. The car was like that, it went up (to the barrier), it kept hitting the tree," said Wati at the scene, Friday, June 26, reported by ANTARA.

The hard collision made the front of the car dent into the front cabin, trapping the passengers.

Wati said there were five PPSU officers in the car, three of whom were sitting in the front cabin, while the other two were in the back.

In fact, the severity of the impact made one officer who was in the back of the tank bounce onto the street until he fainted.

"In front there are three people, behind there are two people. One person (behind) is mentally down, fainted," said Wati.

Meanwhile, the condition of the three officers who were in the front cabin was also serious.

They suffered lacerations and bleeding on their faces from broken windshield shards.

"The one inside, his face was injured, but he was still conscious," said Wati.

Residents who saw the incident immediately headed to the location to provide assistance.

The two victims who suffered the most severe injuries were immediately evacuated using another vehicle to the nearest hospital so that they could immediately receive intensive care.

Wati revealed that when the accident occurred, the traffic flow around the tree was not crowded, there were no motorbikes passing by.

"Fortunately, there was no motorcycle. Fortunately, it just hit a tree," said Wati.
