ODC Task Force Captures KKB Shooter of Briptu Alvando in Sugapa

JAYAPURA - The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force (ODC) 2026 arrested PP (25), a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who was the perpetrator of the shooting that caused the death of a member of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force-2024 Briptu Alvando Steve Karamoi in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency on January 19, 2024.

PP, a member of the Intan Jaya KKB, was arrested on Wednesday (24/6) at around 14.10 WIT in Bajemba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency.

"Currently, PP is still being examined by investigators at Sugapa," said Kaops Damai Cartenz Irjen Faizal Ramadhani as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 26.

Kaops said that in addition to being involved in the shooting that resulted in the death of the ODC-2024 personnel, the PP was also suspected of being involved in the shooting of the TNI Sugapa Lama Task Force Post and the TNI Hitadipa Task Force Post on January 22, 2026, as well as the shooting of the TNI Bulapa Task Force Post on January 27, 2026.

According to him, PP was charged with violating Article 458 paragraph (1) and/or Article 466 paragraph (3) and/or Article 459 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c and/or Article 21 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), regarding the alleged crime of murder and/or premeditated murder.

"With a threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 20 (twenty) years, a life sentence, or the death penalty," he said.
