Participants in the Latsarmil SPPI KDMP Died Increased to Four People
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed that the number of participants in the basic military training (latsarmil) of the Indonesian Development Movement Bachelor Program (SPPI) of the Red and White Village / Village Cooperative (KDKMP) who died had increased to four people.
Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, said the deceased participant was named Muhammad Rifki Renaldi Gunawan.
"The Ministry of Defense expresses its deepest condolences and condolences for the death of the late Muhammad Rifki Renaldi Gunawan, one of the participants in the 2026 KDKMP SPPI Program who is currently studying at Satdik Yon Parako 465," said Rico as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 26.
Rico explained that Rifki had undergone medical treatment before he was finally declared dead on Friday morning.
According to him, Rifki suffered from shortness of breath while participating in the latsarmil activity on Thursday (25/6) and was immediately given treatment by the health team of Satdik Yon Parako 465.
"After his health condition gradually improved, the person concerned was able to return to his activities," said Rico.
However, in the midst of educational activities, Rifki's health condition declined again so that he had to be rushed to the RSAU dr. Esnawan Antariksa to get further medical treatment.
"Although various medical efforts have been carried out optimally, the deceased was declared dead on June 26, 2026 at 00.28 WIB," he said.
Rico said Rifki and other participants had undergone a health examination before being declared eligible to participate in the latsarmil.
However, the Ministry of Defense will evaluate all the implementation of the SPPI Program to ensure that similar incidents do not recur.
So far, Rifki is the fourth participant who died while participating in the SPPI latsarmil.
The three previous participants were Yonanda Muhammad Taufiq, Anisa Muyassaroh, and Novia Rahmadhani Sihotang.
