Prabowo reminds the nation's elite, the country is difficult to advance if it continues to fight

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto reminded the importance of elite cooperation as one of the conditions for a country's progress. According to him, history shows that many countries fail to develop because their leaders are unable to cooperate.

Prabowo conveyed this message when giving directions at the National Sarasehan which was part of the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) 2026 at Hall B of the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, June 26.

Prabowo said Indonesia has diversity in ethnicity, religion, profession, experience, and background. However, these differences should not hinder the birth of a meeting point to build the nation.

"From what I have learned from history, a nation whose elite can work together is a nation that rises. A nation whose elite cannot work together will not reach its potential," said Prabowo.

He cited various conflicts that are still ongoing in a number of regions, such as Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Iran, and Yemen. According to Prabowo, prolonged conflicts are an important lesson about the magnitude of the impact of division.

The President also reiterated his commitment to respect the results of the election. He revealed that he had lost four times in the presidential election, but still accepted the results of democracy and did not interfere with the government that had received the mandate of the people.

"If every election that loses is always noisy, when do we want to advance and make the people prosperous?" he said.

Prabowo assessed that all abilities, knowledge, and leadership should be dedicated to improving the welfare of the community, especially the most vulnerable groups. Therefore, he invited academics and leaders of the nation to strengthen cooperation to face various challenges in national development.
