Resign from OKAAY, Nicky Kay is Ready to Start a Different Journey

JAKARTA - Nicky Kay announced his resignation as the vocalist of OKAAY. After five years, he chose to part ways with his partner, Okin.

Through his personal Instagram account, Kay directly announced his separation from OKAAY.

"Some chapters in life don't end because they fail. Those chapters end because they have fulfilled their purpose," Kay wrote, opening the announcement.

"After five unforgettable years with OKAAY, today I decided to step down from my role as the band's vocalist," he continued.

Five years of music with Okin, said Kay, has given him many things that are even difficult for him to express in words.

"Friendship, lessons, challenges, growth, and memories that will stay with me for life. Every stage we stepped on, every song we shared, and every person who believed in us became part of the story of my life," he said.

"This decision was made wholeheartedly. Not because it's easy, but because I believe there are still dreams waiting for me outside this chapter," the vocalist added.

Furthermore, Kay expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported him together with OKAAY.

"To my bandmates, our team, and everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you. Thank you for growing with us, singing with us, and making this journey so meaningful," he said.

Without explaining the reasons for his resignation in more detail, Kay closed his message by expressing his belief that his departure from OKAAY was not a farewell, but rather a new beginning.

"And if life has taught me anything, it's that the paths that are destined to meet will always find their way back to each other," Kay said.

"Until our stories meet again. Some separations are not the end of a story, but the courage to start over. This is not the end of a journey. This is the beginning of a different journey," he concluded.
