Not Stopping at Blueray Cargo, the KPK is Asked to Uncover the Network Involved in Customs Bribery
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is asked to develop the investigation of the case of alleged illegal import corruption in the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). All networks suspected of being involved must be investigated and must not stop at Blueray Cargo.
"The KPK has examined a number of cargo and forwarder companies. The deepening must continue. If it is proven that they have given something to customs officials or other officials, the KPK must dare to reveal it, not just PT Blue Ray," said Chairman of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW), Sugeng Teguh Santoso to reporters quoted Friday, June 26.
Sugeng said the alleged bribery, which began with a hand-in-hand operation in February 2026, could not be considered to involve only one company or one institution.
Investigators, continued Sugeng, need to trace the entire chain of parties who are suspected of enjoying the benefits of the practice of conditioning the import route. "The information that has emerged now shows that there are still many things that need to be investigated," he said.
"Don't let this big case stop with only some of the perpetrators, while other parties who may have a strategic role are not touched," added Sugeng.
Sugeng said the success of the KPK would not only be measured by the number of suspects who were appointed, but also the ability to dismantle the entire network suspected of working in the practice of import corruption.
"The important thing now is to ensure that the legal facts are fully open. Don't let just one company look bright, while the other knots in the network remain dark," he concluded.
