Jakarta Anniversary Night at HI Roundabout, Dishub Prepares Traffic Engineering and 21 Parking Bags 

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (Dishub) is preparing traffic engineering on a number of roads around the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (HI) during the peak night of the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta (HUT) on Saturday, June 27.

The arrangement was carried out from 14.00 to 23.00 WIB to anticipate vehicle congestion in the center of the capital.

Head of DKI Jakarta Traffic Management Office Budi Awaluddin said traffic engineering was implemented on a situational and gradual basis during the event entitled Towards 5 Centuries of Jakarta.

"We are preparing traffic arrangements in a situational and gradual manner, along with alternative routes, parking lots, and public transportation support. To support the smooth running of the event and community mobility, Dishub DKI Jakarta also deployed 475 personnel in the field who will be tasked with traffic management, security, and services to the community during the event," said Budi, in a statement, Friday, June 26.

A number of roads that intersect directly with the event location will be affected by traffic arrangements. In the first place, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman segment from HI Roundabout to Dukuh Atas, Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan M. Mashabi, Jalan Sutan Syahrir segment from Jalan Agus Salim to HI Roundabout, Jalan Imam Bonjol segment from Jalan Agus Salim to HI Roundabout, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep.

Meanwhile, traffic flow on Jalan Kebon Sirih and Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim from west to east and vice versa is still normal and can still be passed.

To anticipate the density around the event location, the public is urged to adjust the time and route of travel, as well as use alternative routes. The alternative routes that can be used during the traffic arrangement are as follows:

1) Traffic from the North (Harmoni) to the South (Semanggi) can pass through Hayam Wuruk Street - Ir. H. Juanda Street - turn around at the Veteran III Street intersection - Ir. H. Juanda Street - Suryapranoto Street - Balikpapan Street - East Cideng Street - KH Mas Mansyur Street - Prof. Dr. Satrio Street - turn around - General Sudirman Street and so on.

2) Traffic from the North (Harmoni) to the East (Tugu Tani) can pass through Jalan Ir. H. Juanda - Jalan Pos - Jalan Gedung Kesenian - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat - Jalan Pejambon - Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais and so on.

3) Traffic from the East (Tugu Tani) to the North (Harmoni) can pass through Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais - Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur - Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara - Jalan Majapahit and so on.

4) Traffic from the East (Tugu Tani) to the West (Tanah Abang) can pass through Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais - Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan - Jalan Budi Kemuliaan - Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Fachrudin and so on.

5) Traffic from the East (Menteng) to the West (Tanah Abang) can pass through Imam Bonjol Street - Agus Salim Street - KH Wahid Hasyim Street - KH Mas Mansyur Street and so on, or through Imam Bonjol Street - Agus Salim Street - Kebon Sirih Street - Fachrudin Street and so on.

6) Traffic from the South (Semanggi) to the North (Harmoni) can pass through Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Cideng Barat - Jalan Suryopranoto and so on. Alternatively, you can pass through Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III - Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur II - Jalan R.M. Margono Djojohadikoesoemo - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Cideng Barat - Jalan Suryopranoto and so on.

7) Traffic from the west (Tanah Abang) to the east (Gambir Station) can pass through Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Budi Kemuliaan - Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan - Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur and so on.

8) Traffic from the west (Tanah Abang) to the east (Tugu Tani) can pass through Jalan Jati Baru Raya - Jalan Kebon Sirih and so on, or through Jalan Fachrudin - Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim - Jalan Agus Salim - Jalan Kebon Sirih and so on.

Dishub also prepared 21 parking bag points around the event area. Parking locations are spread across a number of office buildings, shopping centers, to government parking areas such as IRTI Monas, Sarinah, Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia, Wisma Nusantara, Menteng Park, BNI 46 Building and Wisma 46.

Overall, the parking capacity provided can accommodate 12,295 cars, 8,186 motorcycles, and 97 buses.

Budi asked the public not to park their vehicles on the road because it could potentially exacerbate traffic around the event location.

"To facilitate mobility to the event location, our community is urged to use public transportation, use the official parking bags that have been provided, and adjust the time and route of travel. We also invite all road users to comply with traffic signs and instructions from officers in the field so that the celebration goes smoothly, safely, and orderly," he said.

In addition to traffic engineering, a number of Transjakarta services also experienced adjustments to the operational pattern on a situational basis during the event. Several routes were modified, shortened, and temporarily stopped to adjust to traffic conditions around HI Roundabout and the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.

The modified routes at 15.00-22.00 WIB include route 1 Blok M-Kota which is modified through Corridor 13 and Corridor 9, route 6B Ragunan-City Hall via Semanggi which is shortened to Semanggi, route 9D Pasar Minggu-Tanah Abang which operates through Slipi, and route 1B Palmerah Station-Transport Hub Dukuh Atas which is shortened to the Youth Gate.

Meanwhile, the 6A Ragunan-City Hall route via Kuningan, 1N Tanah Abang-Block M, and 1P Senen-Block M do not operate during the activity from 05.00-15.00 WIB.
