Transportation Dishub to Remove Pentils of Dozens of Illegal Parking Vehicles in Senopati-Gunawarman
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Transportation Service (Sudinhub) has taken action against dozens of vehicles that are parked carelessly in the Senopati and Gunawarman Jalan areas, Kebayoran Baru. In a joint operation held on Thursday, June 25 afternoon, officers towed cars to remove the throttle of two-wheeled vehicles that violated.
The order was carried out together with TNI, Polri, Satpol PP, and the Kebayoran Baru District Government. Senopati and Gunawarman areas have long been known as one of the vulnerable points for illegal parking due to the high activity of culinary centers and entertainment venues.
In the operation, officers towed a car, transported eight motorcycles using a crane, and carried out a Operation Remove the Throttle (OCP) for 17 motorcycles. In addition, one person with a Social Welfare Problem (PMKS) was also disciplined from the location.
Head of Sudinhub South Jakarta Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu said the action was taken against vehicles that used the sidewalk or road as a parking lot.
"The sidewalk must remain a safe and comfortable space for pedestrians. Therefore, we are enforcing vehicles that park in accordance with the rules and interfere with the function of roads and sidewalks," Bernad told reporters, Friday, June 26.
According to Bernad, before the action was taken, officers first gave warnings to vehicle owners and business owners around the location not to use public facilities as parking areas.
"We prioritize a persuasive approach by giving vehicle owners the opportunity to move their vehicles. However, if within five minutes it is not heeded, officers will take action in accordance with the provisions," he said.
Bernard emphasized that the order was not only carried out once, but would continue to be held periodically at a number of points that were often crowded with illegally parked vehicles. In addition to business areas and culinary centers, supervision will also target residential areas that often find similar violations.
Bernad reminded the public to park their vehicles in the designated areas and not take up pedestrian space. According to him, the sidewalk must continue to function according to its provisions, while traffic order is a shared responsibility between the government and the community.
"The crackdown on illegal parking will continue to be carried out periodically at vulnerable points of violation in the South Jakarta area, both in residential areas, culinary centers, and business areas," he added.
