KSP: Prabowo Wants Bandung Kidnapping Case to be Processed According to Law
JAKARTA - The Presidential Chief of Staff, General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, said President Prabowo Subianto paid attention to the kidnapping and violence cases that befell YTR in Bandung Regency and asked that the handling be carried out in accordance with applicable laws.
"His message is that it will be processed according to the applicable law and he is very concerned about this incident," said Dudung after visiting the victim at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung, Thursday, quoted by Antara.
Dudung assessed that the actions taken by the suspect, Taufik Hidayat, had exceeded the limits of humanity. According to him, the victim's current condition shows the severity of the suffering he experienced during his kidnapping.
"I personally frankly, when I saw the condition earlier, this is beyond the limits of humanity so it deserves to be punished as heavily as possible," he said.
In addition, Dudung appealed to the public to be more concerned about the surrounding environment and immediately report to the authorities if they find suspicious things to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
"If you see something suspicious or strange, immediately report it to the relevant authorities so that things do not happen outside of supervision," he said.
Previously, Taufik Hidayat had been named a suspect in the kidnapping and persecution case against YTR, which allegedly lasted for about three years in a boarding house in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a number of serious injuries that affected his physical condition, including vision impairment, difficulty speaking, and being unable to walk normally.
